Day 3: Christmas Unisex Gift Guide: Tiger Tribe

November 20, 2018

There is something about getting a little box of goodness. A box that opens up to reveal treasures and trinkets. This instantly reminds me of Tiger Tribe.  If you’ve been following along, you will know that I love toys that are compact, portable and practical. Toys that can be thrown in a bag, taken anywhere, and capture the imagination of those who use them. Since Ella and Hudson were both little, we’ve loved it when someone gifts them a treasure from Tiger Tribe.

Tiger Tribe design compact and portable activity sets that are ideal for café play and travel. Compact enough to throw into mum’s handbag, the family daypack, carry-on luggage or a kid’s backpack. ‘Portable’ means everything you need to complete the activity must come in a self-contained box (so nothing gets lost). Making it super easy to pack up too! design imaginative and creative product that offer a non-digital alternative to help ‘un-plug’ kids

Tiger Tribe

Tiger Tribe was in 2007 (in the garage of a family home) – by the parents of two little tigers. Their vision was to design children’s gifts and toys that were creative, engaging and affordable. They wanted to create products that their own kids would play with, that tapped into a child’s imagination and sense of fun. As parents leading busy lives, physical portability to extend product use outside of the home was important too.

All of their products are designed here in Australia.

Ella and Hudson have adored their stuff since they were very little. Many of their products are marketted specifically towards girls and boys, however you may not know that many are also unisex! Whilst it is totally great if boys want to create flower crowns, or girls want to play with dinosaur magnets, there is a great range that can be assured to capture the imagination and attention of every child, no matter what!

Tiger Tribe

Some of our unisex favourites from their range include:

Shrinkies DIY

Take a trip down memory lane with Shrinkies DIY Fun!

Any parent who was born in the 80s will love this too! Take a trip down memory lane with Shrinkies DIY Fun!
The DIY Fun set includes everything you need to make your own shrink art key rings. Place the pre-cut Shrinkies shapes on top of the suggested designs and trace with the enclosed fine tip marker. Tailor them to make your own designs with a collection of traceable fonts. Or simply draw your own designs from scratch!
Then colour your designs, pop them in the oven and watch them magically shrink to 40% of their original size, in front of your eyes! And the best bit… as your artwork shrinks the colours become more intense. Please note Adult Supervision is required for this project.
Magic Painting World – Safari Adventure

Become a magical artist with Tiger Tribe’s Magical Painting World

Become a magical artist with Tiger Tribe’s Magical Painting World. Fill your magic paintbrush with water and reveal the gorgeous illustrations brought to life with every brush-stroke!

Ideal for portable play, each set contains 4 paintings for you to discover with your water-brush that can be revealed time and time again — when your scene dries, it returns to white, hiding your magic world so you can keep playing over and over again. Each illustration board has things for you to find and count as you paint, providing hours of fun!
Foil Art – Under the Sea
Under the Sea helps kids to create their own glistening underwater masterpiece. Whales, turtles and seahorses are all waiting to be brought alive with a sparkling rub of holographic foil!
Foil Art is the ideal, no-mess crafting activity for creative kids. Simply select your favourite foil roll, peel back a white section to reveal the adhesive sticker, then rub on the foil (coloured side up), repeat the process until you’ve finished the design and voila! A beautiful artwork!
A must-have item for when mum or dad need some time out at the cafe. And perfect for keeping little hands busy when travelling. And at just 16cm(w) x 24cm(h) each compact set is the ideal size to throw in your bag before you head out the door.
Artist Kit
Do you have a budding young artist in your house? Encourage them in their creative pursuits with Tiger Tribe’s Artist Kit – Learn. Imagine.Create. — a inspirational set designed to challenge older kids to explore the many aspects of drawing.
This beautiful Artist Kit guide will take your child through the elements of drawing, including pen and pencil techniques, drawing anatomy, perspective, colour theory and so much more!
Take the time to practice the techniques demonstrated in the guide and play around with colour, using the art materials contained in the kit. With 40 pages of quality art paper included you will have plenty of opportunity to perfect your art.
Tiger Tribe is available almost everywhere! You can find them online here and in all good toy stores!
