Day 1: Christmas Unisex Gift Guide: Magformers

November 18, 2018
Magformers

I’m so excited to this year be launching my unisex gift guide for Christmas. Gift Guides are everywhere, but what if you actually want to get something that you could give to a girl OR a boy, or….both!!!???? This year I’m proud to be sharing eight different gift ideas, from eight different businesses. What’s even more exciting is that each of them have a fabulous giveaway or discount especially for my followers!

So to kick things off we are starting with….Magformers.

If you have been following me, you will know that Magformers are my number 1, go to toy when we are either travelling or eating out. The amount of times we get stopped in the middle of dinner by Mums and Dads asking what these incredibly cool and fabulous things are…always amazes me. I literally think that it is one toy that every parent should be given for their children.

Magformers

Winner of the Australian Educational Toy of the Year in 2016.  Magformers consists of bright, colourful and fun educational shapes. Each piece contains encapsulated 360 degree rotating magnets that always rotate to attract to the magnet encapsulated in the next shape. Rather than the usual stacking or interlocking block, Magformers can be connected in any direction in 3D. This is due to the powerful rotating magnets encapsulated within deliberately placed contact points within each piece! Magformers are easy to assemble and disassemble when compared to blocks that insert or interlock to assemble.

Magformers pieces are not designed only for stacking purposes like normal blocks, they are designed to demonstrate amazing connecting power regardless of their direction!

You can buy them in kits to construct amazing objects like the ferris wheel (we got this one last year!), cars that actually move, or simply buy a basic set to let the kids imaginations run wild.

We carry ours in a small bag that I chuck in my handbag when we go out. Hudson and Ella both ask for them every time we are away, and are often seen underneath the table, connecting them to the metal underside, creating amazing towers and shapes.

Some of the benefits for children include:

  • Development of creativity and imagination
  • Problem solving and following instructions
  • Developing 2D and 3D spatial awareness
  • The creation of objects using nets and mathematical awareness
  • Working together to create shapes and follow patterns

Magformers Magformers

Some of our favourites include:

The WOW Set RRP $69.95. Children can create some amazing vehicles following sets of cards!

Carnival Set: RRP $116.90. Think rides at Luna Park, or the Ferris Wheel at Darling Harbour! Children will love recreating what they saw when they had the best day of their lives at Luna Park!
The Set includes a little boy piece and a little girl piece in a square so that children can include themselves in the scene!
A wonderful set to have for years to come! The ferris wheel can actually spin!!

Magformers Basic 30 : RRP $69.90. This Magformers set is a basic set that comes with basic triangles and squares.
It’s an introductory set that helps develop fine motor skills in young children, who can use the colourful pieces to create 2D patterns and 3D models.

The new Curve Set: RRP $53.90. The NEW Magformers Curve 20 Set comes with a total of 20 pieces, with 16 curved shapes (Arch x 4; Cone x 4; Sector x 8) and 4 squares.

I’m not even joking when I say, that this toy would have to be one of my top five that we’ve ever bought for our children. It’s one of those toys that is an investment. An investment in something that is fantastic quality, promotes creativity and will stand the test of time. Your only problem will be wanting to buy more, because you will get so hooked on them too! Magformers are available in stores nationally and online via their store here.
